Signs of Life in the Garden!

I went out early to survey the potted plants on my deck. After the hard freeze of last week, I was amazed to find my precious pansies thriving. Even though they can tolerate the cold, I really didn't expect them to make it through so many days of frigid temperatures. What a wonderful thing nature is!

Arctic Blast On the Way!

We are really in for some cold weather, at least for our part of the country. Lows for the next several nights into the low 20's and possibly upper teens for Saturday morning. I've been outside reconstructing the shelter for the stray kitties that live in my back yard. Although I'm pretty sure they spend their nights under the house, which is on stilts, at least they have a windbreak with lots of blankets and cushions in case they venture out. I'll fine tune the shelter tomorrow, but for tonight, it should be fine. I'd bring them inside, but my three indoor kitties would raise objections.
